I'm so excited to finally be writing this post - we're delighted to announce that our brand new Prague shows are live! This November, for the very first time, we're taking two of our most successful events - The Future of Web Design and The Future of Web Apps - on the road to Prague!
So, What Can You Expect?
For a start: choice! With two stages running side by side, attendees to FOWA / FOWD Prague can choose between web design, front end and back end topics throughout the conference. Your ticket gets you access to both shows, so you don't have to limit yourself to one or the other - in fact we'd encourage you to change tracks as often as you like, to make sure you're always getting the content and inspiration that's the most relevant to you!
We can also guarantee a fantastic atmosphere: our shows are carefully developed to encourage plenty of interaction between attendees and speakers alike - with Speaker Clinics, Attendee Think Tanks and networking sessions throughout the day - as well as the chance to unwind at one of our infamous after-parties. In terms of structure, we're giving the first day of the event over to your choice of four intense workshops, and following these up with two full days of conference sessions.
So, why Prague?
For years, our shows have attracted many fantastic attendees from mainland Europe, so we thought it was only polite to bring a show out to you! As well as being an incredibly beautiful, inspiring city to visit, one of the reasons that we settled on Prague is because it lies right in the heart of Europe, meaning we're hopefully not too far from any of you :) It also offers it's visitors great value for money; we know that cost plays a big factor in attending a conference and with plenty of affordable flights, hotels and restaurants, Prague seemed like a great base for our attendees who were traveling from out of town.
Our line up is still a work in progress, but we're already excited to count Google's Addy Osmani, Smashing Mag Editor Vitaly Friedman and Opera's inestimable Bruce Lawson amongst our keynotes. Other speakers already confirmed include typography master Tim Ahrens and recent winner of the Ruby Hero Award, Konstantin Haase. We'll be announcing more speakers over the coming days and weeks, so make sure you keep an eye on the schedule and our FOWA / FOWD twitter feeds! As speakers are still being confirmed, we've also added topics to the schedule pages to give you a good idea of the kind of things that we'll be covering.
More Questions? Interested in Speaking?
I'm the producer for both shows, and I'd love to hear from you with any questions that you might have. We're always open to pitches for sessions (don't worry if you have no prior experience: if you're passionate about your chosen topic, we have Rising Star slots open for those just starting out on the circuit) - just send me an email introducing yourself and telling me why you'd like to be considered :)
